DFW Marksmen

The DFW Marksmen Ball Hockey Team was founded in 2020 by the members of Dallas Ball Hockey and is Dallas-Fort Worth’s first official competitive ball hockey team.  The Marksmen compete in the Texas Division of the National Ball Hockey League http://theNBHL.com/.

In February 2020, the Marksmen played their inaugural games vs the Austin Arsenal in Austin, Texas.  The Marksmen split a competitive 2 game series with Austin dubbed, "Clash of the Texans".   In December 2020, building on that initial event in Austin, Dallas Ball Hockey hosted the “Texas Division Clash” by inviting the Austin Arsenal and the Red River Hot Sauce of Shreveport, LA. to their home rink (Elzie Odom Recreation Center) in Arlington, TX.  It was a very competitive day of ball hockey, with the Red River Hot Sauce taking home the championship with a win over the DFW Marksmen in the finals.   Check out some highlights of the action here: https://www.facebook.com/nbhltexas/videos/3702908326414888

That event was a prelude to the Texas Division of the National Ball Hockey League.  which started in April 2021.  In the inaugural season of the NBHL, 10 divisions and over 70 teams across the country competed in a 10 game season to crown national champions of ball hockey.  In the Texas Division, the Shreveport Red River Hot Sauce won the regular season division title, however the Austin Arsenal took the championship, defeating the Marksmen in the finals. The Arsenal went to the Mylec Cup in Marlton, NJ to compete against the other division champions from across the country in an amazing event that brought ball hockey players together nationwide.

In 2022 the Marksmen look forward to their second NBHL season.  The season will run April through July and has expanded exponentially from the first season, adding 7 divisions and over 50 teams, as well as added another level of competition, Tier 3.  

The Marksmen are made up of players from all over the country who have relocated to the DFW area, as well as some Dallas natives.  Along with having players with a ball hockey background, we also have players from various forms of hockey, including ice, roller, and floorball to name a few.  The Marksmen are currently preparing for 2022 by playing every Sunday night at Edge Skate Park in Allen from 3pm to 5pm.  We welcome new players to join in on the fun!
